Jason Slater (March 8, 1971 – December 9, 2020) was an American record producer, songwriter and musician.
In 1993, Jason Slater served as the bassist and backup vocalist for the American rock band Third Eye Blind, when the group was created in San Francisco. However, he left the band after its first year after recording their first demo.[1][2] After his departure from Third Eye Blind, he became the bassist, songwriter and record producer for the rock band Snake River Conspiracy,[3] the bassist for Band of Flakes (with George Lynch),[4] Revenge of the Triads (with Charlie Clouser and Troy Van Leeuwen),[5] as well as the rap rock band Brougham.[6]
Slater went on to produce many projects, including four albums by progressive rock band Queensrÿche.[7]
Biography
Slater grew up in Palo Alto, California, where he helped form the bands Third Eye Blind, Brougham and Snake River Conspiracy.[8]
On December 9, 2020, Slater died from liver failure at a Maui, Hawaii hospital. He was 49 years old.[9]
