Zamaanat (transl. Bail) is a 1977 Indian Hindi-language action film, produced by V. K. Sobti under the Gautam Pictures banner and[1] directed by A. Salaam. It stars Jeetendra, Reena Roy, Amjad Khan, Bindu in lead roles and music composed by Sonik Omi.

Plot

The film begins in a slum where Parvati, a widow strives hard to sculpt her sons Ravi & Ranveer as loyalists. But the younger one Ravi turns into a spoiled brat whereas Ranveer moves in her footsteps. Ranveer dotes on his sibling and seeks to straighten him. On account of his vices, Ravi establishes enmity with his fellow miscreant Mangal. In an attack, while guarding Ravi, Ranveer is seriously injured which leads to their mother’s death. Out of contrition, Ravi vows to be authentic and guiltless. Tragically, destiny detaches the siblings in a pile-up. Years roll by, and Ravi grows up as an honest cop whereas owing to hunger Ranveer turns his track as a notorious criminal, works for a gangster Rustom, and uphill battles with the foe Rocky. So, Rocky associates Daaku Mangal Singh hazardous bandit of Registan. Ravi red-handedly apprehends Ranveer when he pledges to payback. Knowing it, Rustom escapes with his treasure but his aircraft crashes at Registan. Now, Ravi seeks to seize Mangal Singh but unfortunately, Mangal captures and force-marches him across the desert. On the way, they spot Rustom breathing his last who reveals the secret of treasure to Ravi hence, Mangal recovers him. Meanwhile, Ranveer absconds to take avenge Ravi when he realizes he is his long-lost brother. Forthwith, learning the status quo and he rushes to Registan. By the time, Mangal acquires the treasure and recaptures Ravi. All at once, Ranveer attacks and rescues him. At last, Ravi recognizes him even Mangal as his childhood rival. Finally, Ravi & Ranveer ceases Mangal and the movie ends with Ranveer surrendering to Ravi.
