Viktoriia Maksimivna Onopriienko (Ukrainian: Вікторія Максимівна Онопрієнко; born 18 October 2003 in Kyiv, Ukraine) is a Ukrainian individual rhythmic gymnast. She competed at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, finishing tenth all-around.[2] She is the 2018 European junior team silver medalist.

Career

Junior

Onopriienko began rhythmic gymnastics training at age four.[2]

Onopriienko competed at the 2018 European Championships, winning team silver alongside Khrystyna Pohranychna and the Ukrainian senior group.

Senior

2019

Onopriienko participated in her first World Cup as a senior in Pesaro, where she finished in ninth place all-around and qualified to the ball, ribbon, and clubs finals, finishing seventh in ball and ribbon, and fourth in clubs.

At the Sofia World Cup she finished in 14th place in all-around and did not qualify to any final. She again finished in 14th place in the Baku World Cup but qualified to ball and clubs finals, finishing sixth and fourth, respectively. At the Minsk Challenge World Cup, she was in 14th place for all-around and seventh in the clubs final. She competed at the 2019 European Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan, where she, Vlada Nikolchenko, and the junior group placed fifth in team competition.[3] Onopriienko did not advance to all-around or apparatus finals.

2020

In 2020, Onopriienko competed at Grand Prix Deriugina Cup, where she won all-around gold ahead of Belarusian gymnasts Alina Harnasko and Anastasiia Salos.[4] She won the silver medal in all-around, behind Vlada Nikolchenko, at the 2020 Ukrainian Championships in Uzhhorod, Ukraine.

2021

In 2021, Onopriienko competed at the Sofia World Cup, finishing sixth in all around and ball, and fifth in clubs. At the Tashkent World Cup, she ranked 13th all-around and sixth in the ribbon final. In the Baku World Cup she was in 15th place for all-around, and finished eighth in the ball final. At the Pesaro World Cup, she was in 14th place and did not go to any apparatus final.

From June 9 to 13, Onopriienko competed in the European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships 2021 in Varna, Bulgaria and came seventh in the club final, eighth in the hoop final and 11th in the all-around final. The Ukrainian team - composed of the Ukrainian group and the individual gymnasts Onopriienko, Khrystyna Pohranychna and Vlada Nikolchenko - was ranked fifth.

Onopriienko participated in the Tel Aviv Grand Prix, where she finished sixth place all-around, eighth in the hoop final, and fourth in the ball and clubs finals.

Onopriienko and Khrystyna Pohranychna were selected as the individual rhythmic gymnasts representing Ukraine at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, which were postponed to summer 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic. Onopriienko was the youngest individual rhythmic gymnast competing.[5] Onopriienko qualified to the all-around final, finishing ninth, and her compatriot Pohranychna qualified as well.[6] In the all-around final, Onopriienko was ranked tenth.[7]

In October she competed at the Marbella Grand Prix, where she placed second all-around, ahead of Anastasia Simakova and behind Lala Kramarenko, both from Russia. In the apparatus finals, she achieved silver in ribbon, bronze in hoop and clubs, and seventh place in ball.
