Tarahara (तरहरा) is a town in the Sunsari District of Nepal. It is located on the Koshi Highway in between Itahari and Dharan.
It is famous in the eastern region primarily for Sekuwa (roasted meat).
There is a government-owned agricultural research center.
The name Tarahara comes from Sanskrit Terai + Hara(Green) = Tarahara.
Now it is known as Itahari 20, Tarahara.
Tarahara FM is situated here in Tarahara. Their one of the main Program is Quiz Mala (RJ Uttam Giri), every Friday 6 PM to 7 PM.
