Studençan (Serbian: Studenčane, Serbian Cyrillic: Студенчане) is a village in the municipality of Suva Reka, Kosovo.[a] The new name was given after the Kosovo War.[citation needed] Studenčane is close to Suva Reka, 5 km west. The village has approximately 650 houses and over 5000 inhabitants, 2000 of which also live outside of the country for different reasons; work, family, etc., etc. Unemployment issues still affect the village.
Notes and references
Notes:
- ^ a b The political status of Kosovo is disputed. Having unilaterally declared independence from Serbia in 2008, Kosovo is formally recognised as an independent state by 100 UN member states (with another 13 states recognising it at some point but then withdrawing their recognition) and 93 states not recognizing it, while Serbia continues to claim it as part of its own sovereign territory.
