Sevvanthi is a 1994 Tamil-language film. Direction and cinematography by P. S. Nivas.[2] Music By Ilaiyaraaja and starring Santhana Pandian, Sreeja, Janagaraj, Charanraj, Venniradai Moorthy. The plot of the movie is similar to film Chemmeen with changes in the screenplay.[3]

Production
The movie was in making for 3 years due to many problems.[4] Actor Santhana Pandian (son of Aranganayagam) made his debut in this movie. The lead pair Santhana Pandian and Sreeja got married during the filming of the movie.[3]

The music for the film was by Ilaiyaraaja. Lyrics were written by Vaali, Muthulingam, Piraisoodan and Ponnadiyan.[4]

Reception
Reviewing the film, Malini Manneth for The Indian Express mentioned that "though his fairly neat, there is not much in the film which will hold the audience to their seats". Regarding the hero of the movie the reviewer mentioned that "He is confident and uninhibited before the camera and gets his expression right. His dialogue delivery reminds one of actor Ramarajan".[3] RPR of Kalki wrote that the one needs patience to watch this film however praised Ilayaraja's music and Nivas's cinematography calling them only the strongpoints of the film.[6]
