Sena Can (born 2001) is a Turkish sport shooter competing in the skeet event.
Sport career
Sena Can started sport shooting in 2016 with the encouragement and support of her father, who is a hunter.[1] In the beginning, she was a member of Orhangazi Beldediye Sports Club in her hometown.[2] Currently, she is coached by Ali Rız Bilgin, and is a member of Bilgin Shooting Club in Konya.[3]
She won several medals at Republic Cup and Federation Cup in skeet events.[1] She won the gold medal in the Junior women's category at the 2019 Republic Cup in Konay, and set a new national record with 114 points.[2] The same year, she became Turkish champion, and was selected to the national shooting team.[1]
She took part at the 2022 Mediterranean Games in Oran, Algier, placing at nineth rank.[4]
She set a new Turkish record with 121 points in the women's team event at the 2023 ISSF World Shooting Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan. She advanced to the finals with her teammates Nur Banu Balkancı and Çiğdem Özyaman Özenir, and placed seventh.[5] She secured so a quota at the 2024 Summer Olympics.[6]
SHe won the gold medal at the 2021 Islamic Solidarity Games in Konya, Turkey.[7]
Personal life
Sena Can Can was born in Orhangazi, Bursa Province in 2001.[3][1] She has a sister.[1]
