Pakistan School Muscat (PSM) is a school in the Sultanate of Oman. It was founded in a rented flat in Muscat, as a result of a decision made in the first meeting of Pakistani Culture Centre. Efforts, spearheaded by the senior journalist and founding Chief Editor of Times of Oman Rana N. Parveze along with Mr. and Mrs. S. M. Shafi, were made to collect funds and as a result the school was shifted to its campus in January 1981.[citation needed] His Majesty Sultan Qaboos granted land in Darsait that enabled the school to be established.[citation needed]
In 2012 the school had an enrollment of over 3,000 students. In 2019 the number was 6000 students.[citation needed] The main campus is located in the Darsait area of the city of Muscat.
The school has an auditorium with a capacity of 2000 people, an open field, indoor facilities, basketball court, football and cricket ground, computer and science laboratories. The school library was established in 1993 and the junior block was added to the school building in 2004 with an extension of 20 more rooms in 2011. PSM is affiliated with FBISE Islamabad, Edexcel International, London and Cambridge University including the Cambridge International Primary Program and Cambridge International Lower Secondary Program.[citation needed] The school is sponsored by the Pakistan Embassy and is supervised by the board members of the school.
The school has six branches at Seeb run by Principal Shahid, Musannah run by an acting principal, Nizwa run by Principal G.M Tahir, Sohar run by Principal Mazhar Bokhari, Buraimi run by acting principal Shehnaz Arshad and Salalah run by principal Ms.Munazza Ghafoor.[citation needed]
The school's first batch of students appeared for SSC and HSSC examinations in 1983 events such as the Na`at Competition, Qirat Competition, Debate Competition, and Science and Art Exhibition.[1]
