The 1840 New York State Convention of Colored Citizens was a colored convention held in August 1840 in Albany, New York. The convention, which took place from 18—20 August, was one of several conventions that took place in the mid-19th century United States.
Description
The 1840 Albany convention discussed a number of topics including politics, race relations, and the state of African-American businesses.[1][2]
