Melanotus punctosus, is a species of click beetle found in India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Hawaii.[1][2]
Description
Body length is about 12 to 18 mm. Adult beetle is entirely black in color and shiny. Antennae and legs are ferruginous brown. Head with narrow eyes. Pronotum longer than broader. In male, aedeagus with long median lobe and basally broad parameres.[3] Pronotum has heterogeneous punctations.[4]
