MBC 4 is the first free-to-air television channel in the Middle East aired specifically for American programs. with its new look and dedication to Arab women, now houses an impressive collection of programs that cater to every woman’s wants, It airs social and feminine shows. ranging from The downside of this all is that MBC 2, MBC 3, MBC 4, MBC Action, and MBC Max all show year old movies and TV programs; most of them are re-runs and they all are edited: taking out all drug use, sexual content, and to cut it down to its time frame. Overview and programming

IN late 2009, MBC 4 began airing new Western and Turkish series in a "day-and-date" strategy, providing viewers in the MENA region with US & Turkey drama series, less than a week after their latest episode's premiere in the United States and Turkey. These series include: American Idol, Elementary, The Doctors, Entertainment Tonight, Beauty Match, Al Anisa Farah, Madd Wa Jazr, Qawa'ed Al Talaq Al 45, Nisa Hairat, Nesaa Haerat, The Talk, The Dr. Oz Show, The Oprah Winfrey Show, Late Show with David Letterman, The Insider, The Good Wife, The Vampire Diaries, Ringer, The Secret Circle, 90210, Nesa'a Ha'erat, and Pretty Little Liars.

In 2009, the channel began broadcasting the latest series to coincide with its broadcast in the United States of America and Turkey. Since its launch, the channel has been keen to show the latest and strongest Western and Turkish entertainment programmes.

Despite MBC 4's reputation for broadcasting mild films, it does however broadcast certain R-rated films, such as dramas and comedies like Me, Myself & Irene, albeit the audio was heavily edited since the film contained strong language. It is only important that films do not feature extreme visual violence, and sexual themes are mostly censored.

MBC 4 is the only channel in the Middle East to broadcast Days of Our Lives. The soap has since gained wide popularity in the region. All of the programs are subtitled to Arabic. MBC 4 also broadcasts the popular American television series Grey's Anatomy and Desperate Housewives .

Unlike its sister channel MBC Action, which attracts young male adults with action and thriller genre, MBC 4 features more dramatic and reality perspectives and attracts women viewership. However, the women viewership trend is disputed in recent transmissions. It is subtitled in Arabic language with exception of news segments. MBC 4 started airing Nickelodeon & TeenNick & NickMusic & Nick at Nite shows including Victorious, iCarly, Sam & Cat, The Thundermans and Drake & Josh following the closure of Nickelodeon Arabia & TeenNick & NickMusic & Nick at Nite & MTV Middle East in 2011.

MBC 4 shows many Western shows, such as Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Charmed, to sitcoms like Friends and Malcolm in the Middle, Days of Our Lives, Grey's Anatomy and Desperate Housewives.

MBC 4 displays American series, like Angel, Friends, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, GleeLie to Me, Desperate Housewives and Masterchef Australia, and others all translated to Arabic., which features Hollywood movies and predominantly US television series. It also shows daily news from CBS, American programs like The Oprah Winfrey Show, and many more.

The channel mostly broadcasts American Hollywood movies but it also seldom features British, Canadian, French, Indian, Chinese and other foreign films. MBC 4 has managed to negotiate long-term deals with the top Hollywood studios, securing first-run right and ensuring a steady flow of the top box-office movies.

MBC 4 shut down its analog signal on 13 February 2012.

Since 2011 during the Maghrib prayer, shows advertisements locally for viewers outside and in Qatar that uses satellite services. For example, during the prayer, did not shown it; instead, shows many advertisements for viewers in some cities. However, in very rare instance, when is shown on digital television by using SDTV in PAL format picture, the Maghrib prayer is shown. It also available only for digital television formatting in several cities.

MBC 4 also shows a film every Thursday (as the Girls Only Night Movie) and Friday (as the Friday Night Movie). The live-action TeenNick shows originally aired in English with Arabic subtitles.

Channel periods

The channel MBC 4 periods, which are: Toddlers Time. The channel uses these periods, publicly, to categorize the shows aired on the channel. However, some shows are uncategorized, such as the teenagers (or teen) live action shows, and the night movies which can be only seen on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Uncategorized shows

Uncategorized Shows can be divided to (e.g. Power Rangers, That's so Raven, Hannah Montana), and lastly the night movie, which is only shown on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The other popular Jetix show is Power Rangers. They have aired different power rangers, e.g. the most recent Jungle fury, others are Ninja storm, SPD etc.

Current Disney Channel shows

The current Disney Channel series airing are: That's So Raven, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, Phil of the Future and Hannah Montana. And the most important thing is Darcy's wild life and more recently Wizards of Waverly Place, although these shows are not explicitly part of the Disney on '4 segment due to being live-actions shows, and are usually placed with the other live-action series featured on MBC 4, Jetix on Action.
