Love Flops (Japanese: 恋愛フロップス, Hepburn: Ren'ai Furoppusu) is an original Japanese anime television series produced by Kadokawa Corporation, animated by Passione, and directed by Nobuyoshi Nagayama. The series premiered in October 2022 on AT-X and other networks. A manga adaptation by Ryūdai Ishizaka began serialization in Hakusensha's Young Animal magazine in June 2022.

Asahi Kashiwagi (柏樹 朝, Kashiwagi Asahi)
Voiced by: Ryōta Ōsaka[1]
The protagonist of the series. He receives five love confessions on his first day of school after seeing a fortune telling program on television, which annoys him.
Aoi Izumisawa (和泉沢 愛生, Izumisawa Aoi)
Voiced by: Miku Itō[1]
A Japanese student and Asahi's classmate. She wears glasses and has a bright and cheerful personality. It is implied that she knew Asahi a few years before the series.
Amelia Irving (アメリア・アーヴィング, Ameria Āvingu)
Voiced by: Ayana Taketatsu[1]
An American student who comes to live with Asahi. She is always seen wearing headphones with cat ears.
Irina Ilyukhin (イリヤ・イリューヒン, Irina Iryūhin)
Voiced by: Rie Takahashi[1]
A shy student transfer from Bulgaria. She is actually a cross-dressing girl who has been forced to live like a boy by her father. She appears to know something about Asahi.
Bai Mongfa (白夢華, Bai Monfa)
Voiced by: Hisako Kanemoto[1]
The class' teacher who comes from China. Because she's still young, her relationship with her students is more like that of an older sister. She also has a clumsy personality, particularly at home.
Karin Istel (カリン・イステル, Karin Isuteru)
Voiced by: Marika Kōno[1]
A German student who is self-conscious.
Yoshio Ijūin (伊集院 好雄, Ijūin Yoshio)
Voiced by: Jun Fukuyama[1]
Asahi's classmate and best friend.

A manga adaptation illustrated by Ryūdai Ishizaka began serialization in Hakusensha's Young Animal magazine on June 24, 2022.[3] The first tankōbon volume was released on September 29, 2022.[4]

Anime

The original anime television series produced by Kadokawa Corporation and animated by Passione was announced on March 25, 2022.[1] The series is directed by Nobuyoshi Nagayama, with assistant direction by Midori Yui and Fujiaki Asari, scripts written by Ryō Yasumoto, character designs handled by Kazuyuki Ueda, who also serves as chief animation director, and music composed by Kenichiro Suehiro.[2] It premiered on October 12, 2022 on AT-X and other networks.[6] Konomi Suzuki performed the opening theme song "Love? Reason why!!", while Miku Itō, Ayana Taketatsu, Rie Takahashi, Hisako Kanemoto and Marika Kouno performed the ending theme song "Flop Around".[2][7] Sentai Filmworks licensed the series, and is streaming it on HIDIVE.[8]
