Built in the 7th century in Negash , the mosque in Negash, by tradition burial site of several followers of Mohammad who, during his lifetime, fled to the Aksumite Kingdom to escape persecution in Mecca.[1] It was recently renovated by TIKA, a Turkish cooperation organization.[2]
