The Bangladesh Army is headed by the Chief of Army Staff in the rank of four star general. Under the command of Army Headquarters, Bangladesh Army has 10 division-size regional commands and one Army training and doctrine command. The army training and doctrine command is headed by a general officer commanding in the rank of lieutenant general. Each regional command and respective division is headed by a major general. In addition, there are several independent brigades commanded by a brigade commander in the rank of brigadier general.
