John Fredric G. Wade (born 1968)[1] is a United States Navy rear admiral who currently serves as the Director of Operations of the United States Indo-Pacific Command since October 13, 2020. Previously, he was the Director of Maritime Operations of the United States Fleet Forces Command from July 2019 to September 2020.[2][3][4][5] Wade graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1990 with a B.S. degree in economics. He later earned a master's degree in information systems technology from the Naval Postgraduate School and a second master's degree in national security strategy from the National War College.[2]

In April 2022, Wade was assigned to succeed Blake Converse as deputy commander of the United States Pacific Fleet.[6] In September 2022, Wade was reassigned to instead take command of Joint Task Force Red Hill, established on June 30, 2022 to ensure safe defueling of the Red Hill Underground Fuel Storage Facility, which is to be closed.[7][8]
