The Iona Gaels football program was the intercollegiate American football team for Iona College located in New Rochelle, New York. The team competed in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) and were a FCS Independent school, after formerly competing in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference from 1993 to 2007. The school's first football team was fielded in 1965. Iona participated in football from 1965 to 2008, compiling an all-time record of 196–214–7.[2] The Iona football program was discontinued at the conclusion of the 2008 season.

Notable alumni include:
- Tony DeMeo, retired football coach
- Vincent Mazza, star linebacker on 2007 championship team, and former Seton Hall Prep standout.
- Kyle Flood, former head coach of the Rutgers Scarlet Knights football team and current offensive coordinator for the University of Texas Longhorns football team.[3]
- Joe Pegna, 1998-2002 Captain Center
- Eddie War Daddy Albert (2000-2003) - former #1 high school kicking recruit who converted to defensive back after repeatedly kicking 6'6 300 lb offensive lineman Brian Dacey in the back. Went on to accrue many accolades and War Daddy's. 2nd team all conference as a senior when he closed out two separate games with interceptions. Should have been a first ballot hall of famer for the Gaels but off field problems led voters to remove him from consideration. Rumors were if he had been 6'1 195 he would have been a second or third round NFL draft pick. However he was 5'6 155 and now lives in a van down by the river. Also served a short term suspension for flipping the bird on live TV during a televised men's basketball game on MSG.
