Heale Peak

Heale Peak (81°35′S 160°4′E / 81.583°S 160.067°E / -81.583; 160.067Coordinates: 81°35′S 160°4′E / 81.583°S 160.067°E / -81.583; 160.067) is a rock peak, 1,340 metres (4,400 ft) high, at the east side of Starshot Glacier, 2 nautical miles (4 km) north of Adams Peak in the Surveyors Range of Antarctica. It was named by the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition (1960–61) for Theophilus Heale of New Zealand, an early exponent of the use of triangulation in survey (1868), and later Inspector of Survey for New Zealand.[1]
