Green Island Cement is Hong Kong's only major cement producer.[1]
It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Cheung Kong Infrastructure Holdings.
History
The company was founded at Hong kong in 1887 and was the first concrete manufacturer in the region.[2] It relocated to Hok Un, Hung Hom, Hong Kong in 1898 and became a British company shortly afterward.[3] The company had been a major employer for many decades.[2][4]
