Erik Thomas Pohlmeier (born July 20, 1971) is an American priest of the Catholic Church who serves as bishop of the Diocese of St. Augustine.
Biography
Pohlmeier was born on July 20, 1971, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, one of five children born to Tom and Sharon Pohlmeier.[1] He was ordained a priest by Bishop Andrew McDonald of Little Rock on July 25, 1998.
Pope Francis appointed Pohlmeier bishop of the Diocese of St. Augustine on May 24, 2022.[2][3] He is fluent in Spanish.[4]
Pohlmeier was consecrated a bishop on July 22.[4] He has chosen as his episcopal motto: "Seek first the kingdom of God" (Mt 6:33).[citation needed]
