Plot

The film begins in a village Nandgaon which is ruled by Dharmraj rectitude & rebel whom the public deifies. Hither, the Police are detested to enter the premises. Dharmraj gives unbiased judgments, by inquest the issues at a square called Dharma Peetham where a sword is pierced in the trunk of a tree that has historical significance. During the pre-independence, a revolutionist Dharmraj forefather of the present slew several Britishers with the same sword, and he was hanged to that tree. So, as an honor for his valor and sacrifice, people placed the sword in its trunk. Whenever piety has transcended the limits Dharmraj unsheathes the sword and eliminates the treacherous.

Besides, Chowdary a top-tier conducts several atrocities in the villages associating a sly priest Sastry and conspires to undertake the position over Dharma Peetham. Dharmraj leads a happy family life with his ideal wife Savitri, wise daughter Aarti, and a devoted brother Prakash. Prakash a gallant & well-educated struggle hard for the welfare of the public encounters the venomous Chowdary and falls for a beau Priya. Once, Chotu son of Chowdary tries to molest Priya's elder sister Sudha when Prakash protects her but, in that scrimmage, she loses her voice. Right now, at the trial, Chotu is declared guilty. Dharmraj passes his ordinance that Chotu must wedlock Sudha. At the same time, Chotu discovers that Dharmraj is frequent to the house of woman Susheela and also a guardian to her children Arun & Seeta. Exploiting it, Chowdary accuses Dharmraj, questions him and he spins back. Years ago, a man named Ramdas has to pay a penalty for Dharmraj’s decision as an innocent and committed suicide. Hence, as a repentance Dharmraj has taken care of his family.

Currently, Chowdary is compelled to knit Chotu with Sudha but resists consummating. Meanwhile, Arun & Aarti falls in love and Dharmraj approves of their wedding. In the next step, Chowdary again schemes with a falsified accident as made by Aarti in which a villager Narayan becomes blind. Then, at the tribunal, Dharmraj decides that Aarti should marry Narayan, or else they will be ostracized. Prakash denies and confronts his brother when Dharmraj is about to prepare for a battle. However, Savitri hinders it and requests Prakash to quit the village with Arun & Aarti which they do so. Later, he couples up with them and Aarti gets pregnant. Eventually, Sudha is also carrying which makes Chotu reform. Knowing it, wicked Chowdary ploys to slaughter her when fortuitously, she retrieves her voice. Moreover, Dharmraj discards Savitri too as she visits for her daughter’s baby shower. Here, Prakash exposes the cruelties of Chowdary at Dharma Perham and as a startle, Narayan pretended as blind.
