The Decatur County School District is a public school district in Decatur County, Georgia, United States, based in Bainbridge. It serves the communities of Attapulgus, Bainbridge, Brinson, and Climax.

History

In 2021 the district will change grade alignment.[3]

Schools

The Decatur County School District has five elementary schools, two middle schools, and one high school.[4]

High school

Middle schools

  • Bainbridge Middle School (will become a grade 6-8 school for the entire district in 2021)[3]
  • Hutto Middle School (will become Hutto Elementary, grades 3-5 for the entire district, in 2021)[3]

Elementary school

  • John Johnson Elementary School - Will be consolidated into West Bainbridge Primary School, building will close in 2021[3]
  • Jones-Wheat Elementary School - Will become a PreK-2 school, Jones-Wheat Primary School, in 2021[3]
  • Potter Street Elementary School - Will be consolidated into Jones-Wheat Primary in 2021[3]
  • West Bainbridge Elementary School - Will become West Bainbridge Primary School in 2021[3]

Other

  • New Beginnings Learning Center - Will move to Potter Street facility[3]
