Charlet Duboc (born 6 September 1984) is a British journalist who works as an on-screen host and documentary producer at VICE Media. Duboc specializes in cultural exposé, human interest, world affairs, and satirical reporting, covering a variety of content across VICE's digital and television platforms. She has also written for The Guardian[1] and has appeared on CNN.[2]

Early life

Duboc was born in Surrey, United Kingdom,[3] where she lived until the age of 17. She later moved to London to pursue a BA in American Studies with Film at King's College London. Being captivated by VICE magazine as a teenager, she said in a 2013 interview: "I'd even travel all the way to London to get a copy of the magazine. I'd take it home, hide it from my mum..."[4]

VICE career

Duboc started at VICE in London as an editorial intern. Her first break came when tasked with finding fashion-related stories. She discovered that the first-ever fashion week in Islamabad, Pakistan, was scheduled to go ahead in the following weeks. As the fashion weeks in New York, London, Paris, and Milan generally dominate fashion news, Duboc saw an opportunity to cover other fashion weeks and to explore stories of identity and culture around the world. She was given the go-ahead and made the host of a new VICE show on the topic 'Fashion Week International'.[5]
