This line is situated on Madras (Chennai-Calcutta) Kolkata railway line. The Maharaja of Parlakimidi has laid this line to his place from Naupada during his rule in 1800 AD last and beginning of 1900AD. This was narrow gauge track. Later during 1990s the present railways want stop the training taking a plea that the line is financially not feasible but the people of Parlakhemundi wanted to have the line and made many strikes and agitations and the result is this railway line.
