This category is for persons who have held a seat in one of the county legislatures in the state of New York. Historically, the county legislature was called the Board of Supervisors, and consisted of supervisors, elected by town or city ward. In some counties this system is still maintained. The supervisors which were elected by a single town (styled "Supervisor of the Town of X") should be added at the pertinent subcategory.
