NOTE: Due to technical restrictions, the Tennessee Titans are listed in this category, even though not they but their predecessors, the Houston Oilers, were in the American Football League. Likewise, the New England Patriots were named the Boston Patriots when they were in the AFL. The New York Jets were originally the AFL's Titans of New York, and the San Diego Chargers were originally the Los Angeles Chargers of the American Football League.
