The first African-American Playmate of the Month was Jennifer Jackson, who appeared in the March 1965 issue. The first African-American Playmate of the Year was Renee Tenison in 1990.
Darine Stern was the first African-American model featured on the cover of Playboy magazine by herself (Oct. 1971), but she was never a playmate.
