Budget Padmanabham is a 2001 Indian Telugu-language comedy film, produced by Grandi Narayana Rao under the Sri Dhanalakshmi Films banner and directed by S. V. Krishna Reddy. It stars Jagapathi Babu, Ramya Krishna, Ravi Teja and music composed by S. V. Krishna Reddy.[1] The film is a remake of the Tamil movie Budget Padmanabhan (2000).[2][3]

Plot

The film begins with Budget Padmanabham a man of wit who makes sense of accurate assessment. Looking at his eccentricity, all assume him as a skinflint. But he is meaningful because of his past. In his childhood, Padmanabham is driven out of his beloved house after the death of his parents by a cut-throat money lender. The court has given a stipulated period to pay back the debt. That's why he is securing every single penny for retrieving his house. Padmanabham is a senior-most employee in a private form. Ramya his spendthrift colleague falls and aspires to knit him to have counteracted in life. Though Padmanabham rejects foremost. Following the clue that the due can be repaid easily with the double income, he accepts the proposal. On a condition, Ramya should hand over the total salary to him, and be no point of kids until the loan is cleared. Ramya agrees to it and they nuptial.

Soon after the troubles begin, Padamnabham's means collapses by pilling of his cousin sister Vijaya and brother-in-law Totti Subramanyam. Plus, Ramya's vain brother Ravi also joins them. The situation deteriorates when Ramya becomes pregnant, above she gives birth to triplet boys. Now Ramya is disquiet about the children, unable to cooperate at the workplace, and decides to resign. Here, Padmanabham sorts out the issue by hiring a maid, Sonali. Anyhow, Ramya is in two minds as Sonali's whereabouts are unknown and her tightness with Padmanabham. After a while shockingly, Sonali gets pregnant when Ramya's conjecture turns into reality and rebukes her husband. Padmanabham makes several attempts to convince Ramya and seek the truth from Sonali but to avail.

At that time, Padmanabham detects his boss's son Anil & Sonali are spouses. Then, Anil divulges the actuality he loved & wedded Sonali in his college days. Knowing it, his father conspired to slay her and took shelter at Padmanabham. Presently, Anil requests him to provide a haven to Sonali for some more days. Additionally, he takes a word to maintain secrecy, especially from Ramya as she will not conceal anything from his father. As a result, a cleft in his martial life when Ramya loathes and shows enmity towards her husband. Despite all these, Padmanabham toils day to night and accumulates the amount required. In that joy, Padmanabham moves to Ramya and asks her to accompany him which she denies and also accuses him.

Meanwhile, Sonali suffers from pain, and Padmanabham rides to the hospital leaving the cash in his shooter. On the way, they are onslaught by his boss’s goons. However, Padmanabham succeeds in admitting Sonali to the hospital. Plus, reforms his boss who regrets it. As soon as he returns, is perturbing to see the money is missing which is stolen by the usurer to present Padmanabham to clear the lend. Forthwith, falling apart Padmanabham moves to surrender his house when Anil supports him and he triumphs in winning back his house. Moreover, Ramya also gets to the bottom via Anil and pleads for pardon. At last, the shylock too repents and refunds the amount to Padmanabham. Finally, the movie ends on a happy note with Sonali also giving birth to triplet girls and the families decide to knit their infants in future.
