Akram Hamidi (born 4 January 1999) is a French-Algerian kickboxer and Nak Muay. He is the former ISKA World K-1 Flyweight champion,[3] WBC Muaythai International Bantamweight champion,[4] and WKN European Bantamweight champion[5]

Martial arts career

During Hurricane Fighting 4 Akram Hamidi fought for his first career title, the AFMT Bantamweight championship. Hamidi won the title by TKO, after knocking his opponent down three times in the third round.[6][7]

Hamidi fought with K-1 during the 2018 WGP, when he faced Yoshiki Takei. He lost the fight in the first round, through a KO.[8]

Akram Hamidi fought for the WKN European Oriental Rules Bantamweight title in late 2018, facing Samuele Andolina.[9] Hamidi won the fight by a second round TKO.[10]

During the Kings of Muay Thai he fought for the WBC Muaythai International Bantamweight title, against Frederico Cordeiro.[11] Hamidi won the fight by a unanimous decision.[12]

In the very next fight Hamidi fought for the ISKA K-1 World Flyweight title.[13] He knocked out Sandro Martin in the second round to claim the title.[14] He made his first title defense against Samvel Babayan at Ultimate Muaythai K-1 Rules on November 20, 2021, whom he beat by decision.[15] Hamidi was booked to make his second ISKA title defense against Ruben Soane at Dhee Sok Battle on April 16, 2022.[16] He lost the fight by majority decision.[17]

Hamidi made his boxing debut against Jean Christophe Gomis at Kernfightwerk on October 1, 2022.[18] He won the fight by unanimous decision.[19]

On September 13, 2022, it was revealed that Hamidi would fight at the Ultimate Muay Thaï K-1 Rules 5 on November 19, against an opponent which would be announced at a latter date.[20] On October 25, it was announced that Hamidi would face the K-1 veteran Kazuki Fujita.[21]
