Adalu (food)

Adalu is an Nigerian dish, popular among the Yoruba tribe. The Igbo people also take it as a meal or snack. The food is made up of corn and beans. The mixture of the carbohydrate and protein food makes a unique delicacy.[1]

Overview

'Soft' corn is boiled for few minutes while the beans are picked. once properly cooked, the beans is boiled in a pot for another more minutes.[2]

Other ingredients such as palm oil, onion, pepper and salt are added to give the food a unique taste.[3]

Side dish

Plantain or smoked fish can be added as optional side dish.[4]
