Intro
This is my talk page. Quick intro - I have tried to edit Wikipedia to eliminate the bias and make it neutral, but groups of editors there clearly have a political agenda. No thanks. I just want to provide verifiable material...facts first. And that's how I came up with the user name. — Factsfirst (talk) 08:33, 15 August 2023 (EDT)
Help, please?
I wanted to create my User page, but for some reason, that option is not available. Can someone please explain? — Factsfirst (talk) 09:26, 15 August 2023 (EDT)
- Your user page is now created. Fix it however you would like it to be. Justme 💬 📧 12:03, 15 August 2023 (EDT)
- Thank you for your help, Justme. — Factsfirst (talk) 12:22, 15 August 2023 (EDT)
CAPTCHA
Is there a way to get around CAPTCHA? I keep running into it and it’s really slowing me down. I have to keep looking up capitals of random countries! — Illusion Flame (talk) 15:26, 20 September 2023 (AST)
- Hi, IF - can you tell me what (action) is causing the Captcha to show up? — Factsfirst (talk) 15:29, 20 September 2023 (AST)
- Every single edit. — Illusion Flame (talk) 15:45, 20 September 2023 (AST)
- That's bizarre. I'll inform the tech. — Factsfirst (talk) 19:29, 20 September 2023 (AST)
- Every single edit. — Illusion Flame (talk) 15:45, 20 September 2023 (AST)
- Illusion Flame - see if it works now. I think Paradigm got it fixed. One of our techs set-up vandal protection, and some of us were "bycatch". — Factsfirst (talk) 20:16, 20 September 2023 (AST)
- No CAPTCHA, thanks for the fix! — Illusion Flame (talk) 20:34, 20 September 2023 (AST)
Wikipedia
Do you have an account on Wikipedia? If so, what’s the name? — Illusion Flame (talk) 12:41, 21 September 2023 (AST)
- I prefer to keep that private. — Factsfirst (talk) 13:10, 21 September 2023 (AST)
- My view is that you shouldn't be able to keep that private here...there is way, way too much opportunity for sabotage from Wikipedians who are inclined to hate this project. — LarrySanger (talk) 15:56, 10 October 2023 (AST)
- Some Justapedia users prefer not to create an association between users here and users of other sites, including Wikipedia, and Justapedia respects that preference. — Paradigm (talk) 20:10, 10 October 2023 (AST)
- That's a very bad policy idea. We'll have to get that changed. — LarrySanger (talk) 21:42, 10 October 2023 (AST)
- Basically, if you aren't using your real name here, and you aren't perfectly open to sharing your Wikipedia identity here, that is prima facie evidence that you aren't on board with the mission here. — LarrySanger (talk) 22:05, 10 October 2023 (AST)

COI
Hey, Factsfirst. Do you have a conflict of interest with The Epoch Times? I am really concerned about this edit where you added a paraphrase of their website but didn't even provide that source. Which still wouldn't have been okay, the stuff that was added was just peacockery, and I'm really very surprised any reasonable editor would think that was okay to add. — Valerie (talk) 16:56, 25 December 2023 (AST)
- I would caution against immediately jumping the gun to make pointed accusations that someone has COI because others might construe it as a personal attack. Maybe at least it should be carefully worded so not to accidentally antagonize others and jeopardize the collegial editing environment while addressing your concerns. It is entirely possible that they are just avid readers of the newspaper and hold anti communism beliefs due to the situation in the world today. — Ron Merkle (talk) 05:59, 26 December 2023 (AST)
- Okay, brand new here, and I may need to learn the culture. Being an avid reader of the newspaper and agreeing with its editorial stance can be a conflict of interest for editing the article about the paper. Is there an appropriate way to discuss this? Because that edit was very concerning, the editor is clearly involved at that article w/re acting as an admin there, and the article was fully protected by this editor, which is kind of problematic all by itself, much less after making that edit. It's concerning, and I want to express that concern, but of course I want to do so in a way that respects the culture here. — Valerie (talk) 10:33, 26 December 2023 (AST)
- In my opinion that would still run far short of a "possible COI" but I agree that it is a NPOV mishap there. Normally the best way to raise the issue would be through NPOV noticeboard, Justapedia:The Exchange and also the article talk page but since the editor numbers here are too few yet (that might change if the story about how Wikipedia's administrators and editors committed sexual harassment against women come out on Daily Beast next year) I suggest you go to the talk page of User:Justme to raise the issue instead.— Ron Merkle (talk) 11:45, 26 December 2023 (AST)

Jan 6 stuff
Hi Factsfirst. Making these articles neutral is not as easy as I first thought. I'm using AI to help but also keeping in mind they used Wikipedia to train. See this info. It's a good thing we think alike about the Jan 6th and other controversial articles. From what I've seen, most of our editors are on the same page on these controversial topics and neutrality. Man, I'm all-in for making this encyclopedia happen! Bambino 📢 📩 09:33, 24 February 2024 (AST)
- Thanks for contributing, Bambino. To get a quicker response from me, I recommend using the ping feature. — Factsfirst (talk) 16:48, 29 February 2024 (AST)
- Sure, will do! Thx Factsfirst. Bambino 📢 📩 08:27, 1 March 2024 (AST)
I was tagged by you to help with the review of an article (RFK Jr.)
I sort of quit this wiki after a draft of mine was ignored for no reason. Is there no queue to approve drafts? This was the draft in question, basically just the Wikipedia article. Draft:David Gerard (author). Also, if you have the power, please consider eliminating the editorial process for new articles, as with such this place will be as dead as citizendium, which tried the same thing. 11:42, 2 April 2024 (AST) To put it another way, I don't see why anyone would submit articles to a small website for review if they do not know the full identity of the owners and editorial members of the website. Therefore this is why most wikis I know don't put up roadblocks to creating new articles, and then just hoodwink or backstab the contributors later if they don't like them and have extracted all they want from them. — William Lupinacci (talk) 11:42, 2 April 2024 (AST)
- Hi, William Lupinacci - sorry for the late response but I've had a rash of personal issues that limited my volunteer time. I just looked at your draft again, and it appears that (a) it was never submitted for review, or (b) you clicked on submit but something is broken and it didn't go through. I will check into it further. — Factsfirst (talk) 13:04, 10 April 2024 (AST) William Lupinacci, I accidentally screwed-up the ping so I'm redoing it. — Factsfirst (talk) 13:08, 10 April 2024 (AST)

- Thanks for your input, William Lupinacci! EdSmithton 📲 11:09, 11 April 2024 (AST) Finishing my comment after being distracted by contractors. I see no way out of AfC, or the editorial process. The process is not working the way it should but that is being looked at by a technician, and interface administrator, Shahadat - and Justme correct me if I misunderstood your email. There are also two drafts that are not in English, so without the editorial process, we could be inundated with articles in different languages. EdSmithton 📲 12:20, 11 April 2024 (AST)
Society for Evidence-Based Gender Medicine
Hey there, Factsfirst - check out what I started doing to the lead of the named article. It's another WP import that carries the stench of bias and a one-sided POV. Justme 💬 📧 11:47, 30 April 2024 (AST)
