USS Kanawha (1862-1866)
19th Century phototype by F. Gutekunst, Philadelphia, depicting Kanawha "cutting out a blockade runner from under the guns of Fort Morgan", at the mouth of Mobile Bay, Alabama. There is no record of Kanawha capturing a steam blockade runner as depicted here, though she took several prizes while enforcing the blockade of Mobile Bay.
