English: The Phillips Collection, America's first museum of modern art, is located at 1600 21st Street NW in the Dupont Circle neighborhood of Washington, D.C. Founded in 1921 by Duncan Phillips, the museum is housed in three adjoining buildings including Phillips' Georgian Revival home. The Duncan Phillips House (center), designed by architects Hornblower and Marshall in 1897, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a contributing property to the Dupont Circle Historic District and Massachusetts Avenue Historic District.
