Summary

Description
English: Schematic representation of azol(in)e biosynthesis in ribosomal natural products. Nucleophilic serine, threonine, or cysteine side chains react with an ATP-activated carbonyl backbone to yield an azoline, catalyzed by the C/D protein complex. Subsequent FMN-dependent dehydrogenation by the B protein yields an azole.
