Ahmad, Khan Bahadur Ekinuddin (1862-1933) Lawyer, social worker and writer. He was born in 1862 in Chandanbari village of Boda police station in the then Jalpaiguri district. His childhood education started at Chandanbari Model School. He passed entrance in 1878 from Jalpaiguri District School. He graduated from Calcutta Presidency College in 1884. In 1886 he b. Passed the L examination and joined the Dinajpur Bar in 1892. He was the first Muslim graduate in the then Dinajpur and the first Muslim lawyer to learn English at the Dinajpur Bar.

Ekinuddin Ahmad formed 'The Mohammedan Association of the Anjuman-e-Islamia Dinajpur' in 1894 to protect the interests of Muslims. He served as the president of this organization. In 1905, he founded another organization called 'Dinajpur Muslim Sabha' in the background of the Partition of Bengal movement and supported the British government to protect the interests of Muslims. To facilitate the education of Muslim students, a hostel named 'Mohammedan Students Education Boarding' was established in 1910 next to Dinajpur District School. He presided over the first Muslim Literary Conference held in Calcutta in 1917.

Akinuddin Ahmad joined the Khilafat movement in 1921. In 1920-23, he was a member of the Bengal Legislative Council from the only Muslim constituency in Dinajpur district. In 1925 he was awarded the title of 'Khan Bahadur' by the British Government. He was also well known as a writer. A notable book written by him is 'Islam and Religion'. He died in 1933.
